A fund of 150,000 Swiss Francs is distributed every year to the Swiss Sailing Federation to enable it to support projects in the “elite”, “junior” and “social action” categories. With a proud tradition of sailing in the country – particularly in the Lake Geneva region – the aim of these grants is to enable the Federation to support its young and future stars, firing their interest, supporting their goals and giving them the platform to compete on an international level.
In 2013 the Alinghi Grant funded a Talent Scout Camp run by the Swiss Sailing Team, a big increase in training and racing sessions for members of the team’s youth and talent pool, and a regional project – New Kids on the Water – which will build on the project’s successful first season.
